'Rumours' rhythm is one of the most popular mordern dancehall rhythms released by Augustus Gussie Clarke on his distinguished Music Works/Anchor label.
After Sleng Teng rhythm gained its popularlity, digital dancehall music has spreaded everywhere in the 80's. While King Jammy dominating the 80's dancehall scene, the Music Works / Anchor label has released this "Rumors" rhythm in 1988. This track is still regarded as one of pioneering rhythms of the mordern dancehall. A song called 'Telephone Love' by JC Rodge became the most selling reggae vinyl records in USA at that time and it was distributted by VP Records in US and Greensleeves in UK.

If you are to name a prominet producer of the 60's and 70's in the reggae music history, many would name Bunny 'Striker' Lee. He also produced Cornell Cambell, Delroy Wilson on this rhythm as well as an instrumental by Vin Gordon and Tony Asha.
