Original Cut (1969) |
|
In the early 60's, while Ska was flourishing in the island, Cornell Campbell started his solo and duo carrer with Alan Martin at Studio One. 3 years later, he became a member of a short lived vocal group Uniques. And later, he formed his own vocal group called the Eternals.
This lamenting love song 'Stars', performed by Cornell Campbell & The Eternals, was produced by Sir Coxsone Dodd for Studio One in 1969 during the period that Rocksteady was changing into Reggae. It featured a very unique falsetto voice of Cornell Campbell and was backed by talented musicians at Studio One.
In the 90's, labels such as Jammys and Xterminator has re-versioned this classic rhythm. |
