Mungo's Hi Fi held a recording session with Sugar Minott in Glasgow in 2009, not knowing　that he would sadly pass away six months later. This record features his raggamuffi n vocal　which has been complemented with Daddy Freddy at his growling best, which he was　proud to record alongside his friend and mentor. The 12" features on one side Mungo's Hi Fi's original dubby smasher, which has been one of their most requested tracks since they started playing it out on dubplate. The other side is their fi rst collaboration with Chimpo, who has pulled out all the stops to take the homage to Zinc's Super Sharp Shooter to the next level.

Mungo's Hi Fi have been following The Hempolics for a while and were glad to get a chance to remix one of their tracks. They picked 'Love to sing' for it's upfull message and joyful sound, bringing in Solo Banton for some heavyweight lyrics in the verses and giving it the Mungo's bass treatment.

Recorded at the height of the phenomenal carrier as the number one Ska band, these are never-released alternative takes of the ultimate instrumental Ska tune ‘Rain Or Shine’ by Skatalites and with respect, it should be called a product of miracle. Both are taken from the master tape. Recorded on the same session as ‘Last Call’ that Don Drummond was in charge, here we have two alternative takes of a seriously killer instrumental Ska which was featured as the introduction of the iconic Ska album “Ska Authentic Volume 2” Like ‘Freedom Sounds’ and other recordings made in the same period, the excavation and releasing of these tunes are much more important for Dub Store Records than the significance of the historic discovery of Pyramid! This is one extremely important and precious piece to complete the puzzle of the mystery of the late genius, Don Drummond and the magnificent tune for deep diggers of Reggae music. What a great Skatalites! What makes even cooler about this tune is that if you listen carefully for both sides, you will realize that each player is not playing a score at all; they all are improvising. It proves that they are undoubtedly the best Jamaican band of all time.

You might have seen Jammy playing this devastating sound killer in sessions lately, although before that this Nitty Gritty on Jammy’s ‘Tempo’ has only been heard on dubplates. No one knows why it never came out – is it because it was a counteraction to Tubby? Or tune that was the lethal weapon of Jammy? There is nothing we can do but imagine those pictures when listening to the intense energy and impact of this tune.

A nice and easy Rocksteady tune 'Phoenix' was sung by Noel Brown who later became the vocalist for one of the most famous Soul Reggae groups, Chosen Few. The flip side featured a gorgeous keyboard inst by Ike Bennett.

It is an obvious fact that Dreadlocks culture was the trend of the time when this tune was released, but how could we ever imagine Derrick Harriott wearing Dreadlocks? He was wearing Afro instead and showed how he could easily cover Persuaders’ Soul hit. The flip side features another cover of a US Soul track that was transformed to a sweet Lover’s Rock by Harriott’s relative, young Kim Harriott. Apparently Harriott’s surroundings at this time were all wearing Afro even if it was the Dreadlocks era.

It was the Dreadlocks bandwagon in the mid 70’s, but Harriott, who started his career in the music business in the early 50’s, persisted his Afro hairstyle and his signature style of music, Reggae Soul and Lover’s Rock. At that time, music fans only approved serious Roots works but his music choices proved that his production was equally true and great Reggae music. Moreover his music brought to listeners a certain comfort, compared to the heavy weight Roots music that was mainly produced during this period.

Another extremely rare take to the identical title released on Wild Apache that is known for being played by the mighty Jah Shaka at his sessions. Comparing to the other Stereo One tunes released around the same time, this one is really fantastic and luring, also complimented by refined deejaying Burro Banton. This one will stand as the definition of heavy weight ragga!

I first met Tommy 115 in Japan 2014 during my Japan tour. I was very impressed with her love for Reggae Music .I could tell how much she loves great Reggae music. I'm not surprised that her new single titled "Rocksteady" sounding so great that I could tell that Tommy had learned the Art of good Reggae Music. Her choice of "Rocksteady" title is just the right name. The Recording is very good and the song has a Happy feeling, it puts you in a mood for Spring and Summer, it's a Holiday spirit. Another unreleased title from one of the popular dancehall artists of the 80’s, Super Black who is also known for his contribution for Jammys. Representing the sounds of Jammys at the time, this refined digital rhythm is built in minor chord with absolute simplicity, creating an excellent chemistry with the melancholic vocal.

Out of all Jammy’s gigantic catalogue, “E20” rhythm could be considered as one of the most destructive ones to date. Jammy found the unreleased track on this rhythm from the vault featuring a familiar face of the 80’s dancehall, King Everal melancholy singing this killer!

‘The Loser’is gloriously considered as one of the most significant songs as well as rhythm tracks in the history of Reggae music. Also entitled as‘The Winner’, the song is easily adapted to sound system dubplates. Being known as Crown Prince of Reggae, this is Dennis Brown's commemorated first single and it was written and composed by Dennis himself. This is, of course, before he started recording at Studio One and is one of his best heartwarming songs. Crystalites' killer keyboard instrumental is featured on B-side and has been admired to listeners who have great appreciation for 1969-70’s up-tempo instrumentals.

From rudeboy era of the early Merritone label, this is an elegant and refreshing instrumental Ska backed with a rudeboy vocal in pre-Rocksteady style. The A-side is an unusual instrumental Ska recorded remarkably at the Federal studio by the Studio One’s iconic session band the Soul Brothers. The B-side is a debut song by Laxton Ford who only recorded a very few pieces during his career. The lyric is built upon proverbs, which is a popular theme amongst Jamaicans. Recorded directly from the master-tape.

The Tartans were like the 70’s reggae all-stars, and this is their early big hit along with a rare Lynn Taitt’s instrumental! Formed by Prince Lincoln, Cedric Myton and Devon Russell, the Tartans brilliantly represent the “oldies but goodies’”vibe on the A-side. Flipping over to the B-side is the Lynn Taitt’s interpretation of the Miriam Makeba’s hit tune. Mysteriously it’s been unknown if this rare piece has been put out as a single or still being unreleased.

'Love Punanny Bad' rhythm is might be less hard-driven than 'Duck' or 'Punanny'rhythm; however, Steelie & Clive has reconstructed the rhythm perfectly in Raggaamuffin way. This 'Love Me Stylee' is another popular song by Robert Lee.
