Earl Flute - The Betrayer / Chuckles - The Betrayer (Instrumental)
Mafia / Dub Store Records JPN 1973
¥1480 (US$9.78)
Out of all those China lead Soul Syndicate vocals this one has to be the tightest although here the rare flute instrumental is the business. At the time Keith Hudson had the original JA funk sounds going on in his rhythms.

Earnest Wilson; Revolutionaries - I Know My Self; Megaton Dub / Version 1 (JA); Version 2 (UK)
Channel One / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US

An undeniable classic, straight from 29 Maxfield Avenue. Ernest Wilson's "I Know Myself" is simply put one of the best reggae tunes of all time (and our personal favorite rhythm EVER!), criminally unavailable on vinyl for many years. Consider this 10-inch now to be its definitive release, the original vocal paired with THREE DIFFERENT dubs, all of which saw release in various places around the time of the tune's original release back in the late '70s.

Mighty Abajians - Don't Change The System
Swing Bird / / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US 1980
N/A
Second cut on the rhythm first used for "Untamed", much much of a straight mix employed here, with a pure drum & bass dub version.
Mighty Abajians - Guiding Light
Swing Bird / / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US 1981
N/A
The second cut of 'Guiding Light', and third cut on the rhythm. This time with a different mix and percussion overdubs by Bongo Herman, again done at Channel 1. This cut mixed in a more spare early '80s style, hard stuff. The Mighty Abidjans for this one were Jaiq Sterling, Leonard Billings and Glenford McLeggan. This is the final Mighty Abidjans single to feature vocalist & song writer Jaiq Sterling.
