Solomonic / Dub Store Records JPN 1986
¥2680 (US$16.95)
Bunny Wailer, respectfully called “The Blackheart Man”, produced Johnny Scar’s one-off recording ‘United Africa’. The mystic singer wrote this heavy roots song and sang with his unique chant like a voice of the roots reggae icon, Burning Spear. And the song appeared as 12”on the Solomonic Production imprint in 1986.
KC White - Not The Man For You / Dub Of Ethipia (Not The Man For You Dub)
Soul Proff / Deeper Knowledge US 1980
N/A
Super heavy tune, originally tucked away on KC's ~1980 showcase LP on Brooklyn's Love People label. This is the first time this tune is being released as a single. Recorded at Channel 1 and mixed at Harry J, this tune has the trademark late '70s Channel 1 sound and a wicked dub.
Barry Brown - Warmonger / Roots Radics - Radical Style
Flabba Sounds / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US 1982

roduced and arranged by Roots Radics bass player and main man Flabba Holt, these tracks are among Barry's best and have been mostly unavailable since their original release almost thirty years ago. "War Monger" comes as originally released, with version side. Hard rock 80's roots sounds from the unbeatable combination of Barry Brown, Roots Radics Band, and Channel 1 studio.
Patrick Andy - Don't Worry Yourself; Dub / Leave The Door; Dub
Channel One / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US

A killer double sided 12-inch from Patrick Andy. Patrick did his best work for Channel 1, who put out a bunch of singles and two great showdown LP's featuring the youth.
Freddie McKay - Take My Hand Oh Jah / Naggo Morris - You Want To Get I Out
Yah Congo Records / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US 1978

DKR proudly present the first ever reissue of these two all-time top deep roots tunes, originally issued on two different 12's by East Orange, NJ's own YAH CONGO label. Now paired together by DKR for one monstrous double-sider. Dub heads take note: neither tune was originally issued with a full version side; both tunes are vocal into dub, originally released with other tunes on the b-side.
Uplifters - Gallas Trap / Version
Narrows / Digikiller US / Depper Knowledge US 1980

Another gem from the Narrows catalog, the haunting "Gallas Trap" by Uplifters. A rare one released only on 12" in Brooklyn from Narrows' former Linden Blvd HQ, it's more killer early 80s sound laid down at Channel 1, back out now on a 7-inch.

Heavy roots masterpiece from the early '80s, and a beautiful and heartfelt song of self-determination, brilliant.
Courtney Peddlar - Jah Love / Dub

iller one-away roots from Courtney Peddlar, "Jah Love" is one of Channel's finest early '80s offerings, only released in JA on 45 and always hard to find.
Hortense Ellis - Jah Mysterious Works / Mysterious Dub
Dub Irator / Bond Export / Deeper Knowledge US 1981
N/A
These heavy early '80s tunes were produced via the fruitful partnership of Jah Life and Junjo Lawes, and have all been unavailable since their original release. All three were released as mini-discomixes on Jah Life's "Family Album" compilation LP, as well as on UK 12-inch singles and one JA 7-inch single. Again the unbeatable combination of the Roots Radics at Channel 1 studio, and the hard mixing of Scientist at King Tubby's studio and great vocals put these near the top of the heap for early '80s roots reggae. We are also pleased to point out that the dub mix on the B-side of "Alligator Tears" is a previously unreleased dubplate mix!
Trevor Walters - They'll Never Get Away / Santic All Stars - Diplomatical Dub
Mutual Life UK / Santic Records 1980
¥1680 (US$10.63)
Patrick Cool - Slave Driver / Version
Jah Life / Bond Export / Deeper Knowledge US 198-
¥1380 (US$8.73)
ah Life ran some sessions in the mid '80s at Channel 1 studio, with the then-resident Gifted Roots Band. None of the tracks from those sessions were ever released, until now! The aforementioned Flick Wilson tune came from those sessions, as do these. Three great vocal cuts on one very tough rhythm.
Reggae George - Girl You're Too Young / Dub
Zion Yant / Digikiller / Deeper Knowledge US 1982
N/A
egendary and rare roots reggae tunes from 1982. Michael "Kush Dan I" Gardine produced himself doing the awesome "Jah Law of Love" at Tuff Gong to great effect, featuring fantastic instrumentation. Originally released only in tiny quantity on 45 in JA, it's back now, and featuring the same brilliant label art, faithfully reproduced in Jamaica from the original films! Around the same time, Kush also produced some tunes with Reggae George, most notably the well known "Three Wicked Men." But there is also this tune, "Girl You're Too Young", a killer slice of heavy lovers. Only ever dubiously released in Canada on a now very rare 12-inch, it's also back again, shedding some light on the under-appreciated artist and producer both.
Tinga Stewart - Babylon Falling / Version
Jah Life / Bond Export / Deeper Knowledge US 198-
¥1180 (US$7.46)
More killer ALL PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED mid '80s roots from Jah Life. If you liked our previous release of Flick Wilson's "Ready Fe Dem", you will love these cuts. Jah Life ran some sessions in the mid '80s at Channel 1 studio, with the then-resident Gifted Roots Band. None of the tracks from those sessions were ever released, until now! The aforementioned Flick Wilson tune came from those sessions, as do these. Three great vocal cuts on one very tough rhythm.
