Comprising of Albert George Murphy aka Clive Tennors, Maurice 'Professor' Johnson and Norman Davis, Tennors recorded thier debut song Pressure & Slide at Studio One and became the biggest hit for 1967.
Soon Prince Buster paied attention to thier popularity and versioned it as Shaking Up Orange Street. Also it is well-recoganized that Sugar Minott's Oh Mr DC is another classical song for using this rhythm.
Moreover in the early 80's, Black & White label versioned the tune. And the late 80's while dancehall was starting to accept digital music, popular productional houses such as Techniques, Jammys and Penthouse have releases various songs on thier versioned rhythm. Entering the millennium, Down Sound label versioned rhythm and produced hit songs. |
